Conventional power stations are relatively inefficient, with the majority of energy being lost as unused heat. Compared with a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) installation, a conventional power station requires roughly a third more fuel to produce the same amount of energy – and the CHP system benefits from converting 50% of the fuel to useable heat, resulting in up to 85% efficiency.
Biomass offers a unique solution to Combined Heat and Power. The fuel may come from a range of sources including wood residues from manufacture and agricultural processes. Beyond this is the option for purposed cropped fuel.
Bioenergy Technology offers design, production and installation services for steam cycle Combined Heat and Power, including boilers, fuel storage and feed and all ancillary equipment, for systems upwards of 800kW. Click Here for more details.
