Environmental
Legislation In the United Kingdom.
DOE PG12 refers to Combustion of Fuel manufactured
from or comprised of Solid Waste in appliances between 0.4 and 3 MW
thermal input. The Clean Air Act applies to smaller installations.
All pollutant concentrations should be expressed
at reference conditions 273K, 101.3 kPa and 11% Oxygen.
PG12 Is currently being reviewed, but O2, CO and
particulates measurement is required as below.
Limits to emissions are :
- Total particulate matter 200mg/m3. Should be
continuously monitored.
- Carbon Monoxide new: Limit values < 1 MW
250 mg/m3 , > 1MW 150 mg/m3 for non continuous monitoring .
- Where monitoring is continuous 95%of 15
minute average for each rolling 24 hour period not to exceed the
emission limit values and the peak values not to exceed twice the
limit values.
