Sanford Housing Co-op

Sanford is the oldest housing co-operative in London and was founded at the end of the 1970′s by a group of enthusiasts.  It was turned from wasteland into a cosy, green and welcoming environment. At any one time there are about 150 tenants lviing in 14 houses which are divided into single room bedsits.  This  forms the Sanford Housing Co-Op.

Bioenergy Technology Limited has supplied and installed seven Mescoli

Combifire2 PB50 50kW wood pellet boilers.  Each boiler installed provides heat and hot water for two houses.  The boiler is located within one of the outbuildings at the front of each house – the other outbuilding houses the hopper feed system.  The wood pellets are delivered by a local wood pellet manufacturer and are blown into each storage area.

Wood Pellets:

Sanford Housing has chosen Biomass wood pellets as the renewable source of energy to heat the 14 houses on their 14 house site in London.
